Words of Wisdom
Words of Wisdom is my most recent exploration in the fantasy theme. The original artwork was done by Teresa Wentzler. She allowed me to change a few things and create it in fabric. I don’t usually do a lot of this but I fell in love with the character of her Dragon and knew I had to do this. The Dragon is done with Satin I hand painted. The Dragon is free style thread painted and quilted. He has jewels on his chest befitting of a old dragon. I chose to have him with hair to tone down the scary dragon feel and to give him a grandfather, full of wisdom look as he talks with the prince. (XXxXX)

Woodland Story
The techniques used are a cross of appliqué and piecing. Many of the fabrics are cottons or silks painted with Seta color paints to match my computer graphic. I used several mediums to bring dimension to this piece. Angelina fibers add sparkle and there is layered tulle in areas to give depth. The fairy’s wings are 3D by using Angelina fiber then sewing it onto florist wire. Each art piece helps me develop new ways of adding interest. I tend to heavily quilt and free style thread paint texture on to my quilts with my Huskvarna Lily sewing machine. (43x54)

Canada Reflections
Reflects some of the things I have seen living in Canada. I still have some things I want to do with this quilt. It is a finished work in progress. The learning curve for me was getting it from  computer graphic collage  to material and have it make sense to the viewer.
